Meet at Tres Rios Campground at 9:00 A.M., near the confluence of Brazos River, Paluxy River and Squaw Creek.

  • Complimentary BBQ after clean-up (Noon-4 pm) at Tres Rios.
  • Free canoes and shuttles provided by Low Water Canoes and Rhodes Canoes
  • If you want to be assured of having a canoe, reserve early. Low Water & Rhodes have fewer canoes to offer as they have in the past.
  • RV camping only and cabins available at Tres Rios. Call Tres Rios for info (254-897-4253)




Warm Day
Nylon shorts or pants
T shirt
River shoes (no flip flops-they will come off in river muck)
Fleece jacket, windbreaker or sweater for morning, if chilly

Cold Day
Nylon or fleece pants (no cotton)
Inner layer (no cotton)
River shoes (no flip flops-they will come off in river muck)
Wool socks ( I prefer smart wool from REI)
Fleece jacket, windbreaker or sweater (no cotton)
Wool and fleece continue to insulate (keep you warmer) even when soaked



From Dallas or 35 W South: Take hwy 67 West through or around Cleburne. Travel approximately 19 miles to the first red light (after crossing the Brazos River Hwy. 67 bridge). Turn left at light, go 200 yards. Turn left at stop sign onto County Road 312, cross over Squaw Creek bridge. Tres Rios is ½ mile on right.

From Ft Worth: Take hwy 377 South to Granbury, turn left onto Hwy. 144, south to Glen Rose. Go 15 miles until Hwy. 144 dead ends into Hwy. 67. Cross Hwy. 67, go 200 yards and turn left onto county road 312. Go ½ mile, Tres Rios is on the right.
