DOUBLE J HACIENDA & ART RANCH HOSTS BUTCH HANCOCK

AT FIRST BRAZOS DE DIOS BENEFIT CONCERT SERIES

Saturday May 3, 2008

Mineral Wells, Texas

On Saturday May 3, the Art Ranch hosts: An Evening Celebrating the Brazos River with legendary Texas singer-songwriter and member of the Flatlanders (with Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale Gilmore) Butch Hancock.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of John Graves’ legendary canoe trip, The Double J Hacienda & Art Ranch supports Friends of the Brazos River in its first Brazos De Dios Benefit Concert Series.  Friends of the Brazos River is committed to, “Restoring a sound ecological environment to the Brazos River.”

More than fifty years ago, in 1957, John Graves chronicled his three weeklong canoe trip down the Brazos River in a book that became an American Classic, Goodbye to a River.  John Graves’ story raised awareness of the natural beauty of the Brazos River and in a broader sense his story brought awareness to the importance of the environment and the ecology of America’s River systems.

The silent auction begins at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner at 7:00 PM.  Mr. Hancock’s performance begins at 8:00 PM.  The evening benefits the charitable organization, Friends of the Brazos River. Tickets are $30.  To purchase tickets call The Double J Hacienda & Art Ranch 940.325.1813.

The Brazos De Dios Benefit Concert Series supports local and international charities that strive to improve the quality of humanitarian, environmental, and ecological conditions.

The Double J Hacienda & Art Ranch, overlooking the Brazos (de Dios) River and the Palo Pinto Mountains is a creative outpost in Mineral Wells.  For more information visit www.djartranch.com.
